- How do I get tickets to a Smith Opera House show?
You can purchase tickets online by clicking the “tickets” icon on any show page on our site. Purchase over the phone by the box office at 315-781-9583 or person at the box office during the hours of Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4pm. If tickets do not sell out in advance, they will be sold at the door on the night of the show beginning one hour before doors open. Cash and credit cards accepted. Remember, we want you to come to our shows so if you have a problem purchasing tickets please call the box office before throwing your laptop in the garbage. Also, we recommend only buying through the above sources – do not trust or rely on tickets/promises sold by 3rd party vendors!!!
- Do you serve food and beverages/alcohol?
Yes! We serve beer and wine as well as popcorn and snacks. If you are 21 years+ and plan on drinking alcohol government issued photo ID is required for purchase.
- Where do I park?
There is off street parking and a public parking lot across the street. Get directions to The Smith Opera House and view a map here.
- Can I bring a camera?
Photo policies vary for different artists and usually are not determined until day of show.
- Does The Smith Opera House have seats?
Unless a show is advertised as reserved seated, our shows are general admission. We do have a seated balcony that offers a great view. The Smith has 1,408 comfortable padded seats. View our seating chart here.
- Is there re-entry?
For most shows, we do not allow re-entry. For these shows, there will be a designated smoking area.
- Does the Smith have an ATM?
None on site. However several banks with ATM machines are within walking distance of the theatre.
- Do you have a coat check?
Sorry not at this time.
- What can’t I bring into the Theatre?
We do not allow backpacks or other large bags. No animals are permitted inside the theatre unless they are service animals. Other items we do not allow include:
Food, beverages, weapons (includes pocket knives), illegal substances, alcohol, open containers, mace. We want you to have an enjoyable evening. We take security very seriously.
- Can I smoke in the theatre?
The NYS Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking in live performance venues like The Smith Opera House. This includes the use of e-cigarettes and vaporizers. Failure to follow this rule will lead to your immediate ejection from our premises. Smoking is allowed outside at designated areas.
- Is the Smith Opera House handicap accessible?
Absolutely! There are handicap seats as well as a handicap accessible bathroom in the theatre. If assistance is needed, please call The Smith Opera House box office at 315-781-5483 in advance to make arrangements. You can also view our seating chart here.
- Is the Smith Opera House air-conditioned?

- Do you rent the Smith Opera House for private events?
- I’m trying to buy tickets online, but it says my email “cannot be used”/I can’t remember my account password?
What this usually means is that we have an email address on record for your account already. What you can do is go to the log in page, and click “forgot my password.” You will be sent instructions to your email address to reset your password. Once you have successfully logged in, return to your cart and continue with check-out.
- I bought tickets online and wasn’t able to print them right away/need to reprint them. Help!
Go to tickets.thesmith.org and click “log in” at the top right hand side of the page. From there log into your account (if you did not create an account when you purchased the tickets click here). Once you log in there will be a button that says “tickets for upcoming performances.” Click on that and you should be able to access your tickets to print.
