Center Stage Act II Capital Campaign

The Smith Center for the Arts Capital Campaign is an ongoing effort to restore our historic structure and upgrade it for the 21st century. The campaign has secured a $750,000 grant from New York State and seeks to match that amount with gifts and grants from the community. The campaign has already accomplished installation of an air conditioning system, a more efficient heating plant, improved sound system, stage upgrades including a state-of-the-art fire curtain, a modern ticketing system for tracking sales, and other necessary repairs.

There are many more projects to be completed including:

  • Electrical upgrades
  • Complete façade renovation and new lighting
  • Film production upgrades to restore classic movie projectors and modernize the projection system
  • Stage expansion
  • Upgrades to the dressing rooms and restroom facilities
  • New concession area
  • Live programming fund to bring new and exciting artists to the area

These improvements are only possible with the generosity of community members. There are three ways you can contribute to this important effort to keep the arts flourishing in the Finger Lakes: an outright cash gift; gifts of appreciated stock, bonds, or mutual funds; or planned giving through a bequest.

Please contact the Interim Executive Director, Jan Regan, at 315-781-5483 or (toll free) 866-355-5483 for further information and to discuss your contribution. Your support will ensure a lasting legacy for many generations in the Finger Lakes community.
