If you have been following our Smith History Blog for the past year, then you know that we usually reserve these posts for sharing unique facets of this building’s legacy within our community. Today we offer a slightly different take on the blog as we invite YOU to help us make history. The registration is now live for Celebrate The Smith: An Immersive Theatre Event. To mark the 125th birthday of The Smith, we invite you to join us, bringing to life some of the stories we have shared on this blog and in our weekly history tours. There are ways for YOU to get involved on stage or behind the scenes! And we definitely need your help. We are looking for at least 50 participants to act, direct, write, stage manage, and host our audience in the space. Participation is FREE and open to anyone 18 or older, regardless of your prior theatre experience! The best part? We’ll do this all in the course of one afternoon and seven evenings, October 20-26! Are you more comfortable as a spectator? Then save the date of Saturday October 26 and we will bring history to life all around you, in surprising nooks and crannies of the opera house. Tickets will be available online soon!
