Forum with the Democratic Candidates for New York’s 23rd Congressional District

Tuesday, January 23 at 6:00 PM
Smith Opera House
Come meet the eight candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for the New York’s 23rd Congressional District in the House of Representatives, the seat currently held by Republican Tom Reed. Learn where each candidate stand on issues effecting our daily lives and what strategies they have developed to win a seat in Congress should one of them be nominated.
All contenders for the Democratic congressional nomination will be here to answer concrete questions about how they expect to win in November and their policy positions on issues like taxes, health care, women’s rights and the environment.
The audience will fill out “My Top 3” sheets, collected on the way out, to give feedback to contenders, which may start to reduce the field.
The candidates are Linda Andrei, Max Della Pia, Rick Gallant, Ian Golden, Tracy Mitrano, Eddie Sundquist, Karl Warrington and Charles Whalen.
In March a candidate, if still in the race, must begin to circulate petitions to enter the Democratic primary held in June 2018. Now is the time to meet them all and begin to formulate your own decision on who can best represent your interests in Washington. Input is needed from everyone. All parties, and individuals, from those concerned about taxes to the environment to simple quality of life issues are asked to come, listen, ask questions and participate in an  anonymous straw ballot at the end, so the candidates too know how they did.

This event is a forum, not a fund-raiser, and it is free and open to the public.
