About Kandasamys: The Wedding
Kandasamys: The Wedding is a 2019 South African Indian romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Jayan Moodley. With their clashing demands, the mothers of both bride and groom turn wedding prep into comical chaos. Named one of the best African films of 2019. The film is a sequel to the 2017 blockbuster box office hit film Keeping Up with the Kandasamys.
The screening (on your own or with us on Netflix Party) will feature a post-screening discussion led by HWS professor emerita Marilyn Jimenez.

About Marilyn Jimenez
Marilyn Jimenez is a Professor Emerita of Africana Studies and Media and Society at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She has taught courses on Black Film and Black Popular Culture as well as film production courses in editing and special effects. Jimenez holds a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
Jimenez as moderated our discussion of Lionheart, an original Nigerian film.
