In response to the recent COVID 19 outbreak, and out of deep care and concern for our wonderful community, the Smith has made the difficult decision to close the theater effective Monday, March 15 through at least Sunday, April 12. All scheduled programming during that time is postponed, including Friday’s Town Pants concert. Please take care. We’ll miss you.

In Sweden at the turn of the century, members of the upper class and their servants find themselves in a romantic tangle that they try to work out amidst jealousy and heartbreak.

This 1955 Swedish comedy film, written and directed by Ingmar Bergman, is the inspiration for Stephen Sondheim’s musical, A Little Night Music, which will be performed by Opera Ithaca in concert style at 8 pm Dec. 30 at The Smith. Read our preview story here.
