Woodstock (1970)

Buy Tickets
Saturday, August 17 at 7pm
Smith Opera House

Join us for the 50 year anniversary of the epic music festival, Woodstock.

Watch legendary performances all while sitting under The Smith’s star dazzled ceiling (no mud!) Artists include Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

Winner of the 1970 Academy Award for Best Documentary director Michael Wadleigh, whose team included a young Martin Scorsese, perfectly captured the raw essence of the festival. Regarding the film, Roger Ebert recalls, “Few documentaries have captured a time and place more completely, poignantly, and for that matter, entertainingly. It has a lot of music in it, photographed with a startling intimacy with the performers, but it’s not simply a music movie. It’s a documentary about the society that formed itself briefly at Woodstock.”

The movie starts at 7pm, doors will open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students (note that fees will incur for online purchases).
