The Smith Announces 2025/2026 ArtSmart Educational Theatre Season

GENEVA, NY –  The ArtSmart Educational Theatre Series returns to The Smith for the 2025/2026 season with five lively, curriculum-friendly productions created especially for school groups and families. From fresh spins on favorite folktales to STEM-powered adventures, this year’s lineup is packed with opportunities to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and bring important classroom lessons to life.

2025/2026 Season Preview: (All performances begin at 10:00 AM)

• Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales – Wednesday, November 19, 2025
Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s newest production, Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales, presents a fresh and engaging reimagining of three cherished children’s stories—Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

• Ada Twist, Scientist & Friends – Friday, December 5, 2025
This fun musical based on the books “Rosie Revere, Engineer”; “Iggy Peck, Architect”; and “Ada Twist, Scientist” by Andrea Beaty, spotlights the STEM curriculum (focusing on science, technology, engineering and math).

• Curious George: The Golden Meatball – Friday, February 13, 2026
Join Curious George, the inquisitive, engaging monkey-star of books, movies and the award-winning PBS television show, in a brand new musical.

• Alice in Wonderland – Tuesday, March 10, 2026
When Alice chases the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, she tumbles into a curious world with a zany cast of characters including the Mad Hatter, a grinning Cheshire Cat, a mischievous Caterpillar, and the imperious Queen of Hearts. This musical adaptation of the timeless classic celebrates the wonder of imagination!

• Hamlet – Tuesday, March 17, 2026
Shakespeare & Company Education’s annual schools tour presents their fully mounted, 90-minute version of William Shakespeare’s paramount play ‘Hamlet’- Unsurpassed in his ability to articulate what it means to be human, Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ explores the most profound questions that we wrestle throughout our lives: who am I? what must I do? and how must I act?

• Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus: The Musical – Thursday, May 21, 2026
With a script written by Mo Willems, the creator of the #1 New York Times best-selling, Caldecott Honor award-winning “Pigeon” picture books, TheaterWorksUSA‘s Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is even more fun than staying up late and having a hot dog party!

The 2025/2026 ArtSmart Educational Theatre series is generously sponsored by the Nelson B. Delavan Foundation, Vance Metal Fabricators, and Walmart Spark Good. Tickets are $7.50 (plus applicable fees) for all ages and all shows are open to school groups as well as the general public. All groups must register in advance. To begin the registration process, please contact artsmart@thesmith.org.

Reservations for school groups are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please register early, as many performances sell out. Payment must be submitted two weeks prior to the performance. Click here for more information.
