The Smith At Home

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and our subsequent closing, The Smith has switched gears to provide free, digital content. Our Smith Film Club, Smith Sessions, and Ghost Light Tours all give you a little piece of The Smith to enjoy at home.

The Smith Film Club is a free, virtual club dedicated to watching and discussing movies available on Netflix.

By joining the Smith Film Club you will receive weekly email reminders including links to both the Netflix Party screening and post-film Zoom discussion.

Club members can choose to watch the movie as a group using Netflix Party, or they can watch the movie on their own time. All post-film discussions are held on Zoom and occasionally feature special guest moderators.+

All club members must be at least 17 years old.

For questions regarding the Film Club email us at boxoffice@thesmith.org.

The Ghost Light Tours

When COVID-19 kept The Smith Opera House from hosting our on-site the history tours, we brought the history tour to you with The Ghost Light Tours.

Created and hosted by HWS Professor & Smith History Blog editor Chris Woodworth, The Ghost Light Tours allows you to view The Smith’s hidden gems from the comfort of your own home. In this eleven part video series, Woodworth brilliantly combines story telling with historic photos and records to highlight The Smith Opera House’s 125 year old history.

The Smith Sessions

The Smith Sessions, brings you digital performances of regional musical artists. Recorded from The Smith Opera House stage, or occasionally at home, our Sessions provide At Home mini concerts.

These videos give viewers the chance to contribute to the artists via their personal Venmo or similar payment account. Stay connected to the arts and support a community hit hard by the pandemic.

All Session videos are hosted on our Facebook page. Make sure to give us a ‘like’ while you’re there!
